Development of econometric and AI models (xLSTM) for fiscal variables forecasting, sovereign risk prediction (debt, classification, climate change), and chatbots for fiscal news compilation across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Center for Sustainable Development Goals (CODS) — Universidad de los Andes
Data analysis and visualization specialist for the Afro ODS: Cerrando Brechas project, which measured ethnic-racial gaps in SDG achievement across Colombian departments and municipalities. Built the SDG Ethnic Gaps Index and supported the design of public policy strategies to close these gaps, in partnership with CAF and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network. Biotechnology Market Analysis & BioB Program Impact Evaluation: survey design and execution, analysis of the Colombian biotechnology market, impact evaluation of the BioB program, and analysis of information from texts and videos through Machine Learning and NLP techniques.
Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) — Department of Research and Chief Economist (RES)
Research assistant to Prof. Oscar Becerra on "Breaking Barriers in Retirement Planning: Evidence from Colombia's Dual-Advisory Program" (with Eduardo Cavallo). Helped manage and process the PILA (Planilla Integrada de Liquidación de Aportes), Colombia's most comprehensive social security dataset (~800 million observations), applying regression discontinuity methods to assess the program's effects on pension-plan switching and contribution behavior. Center for Sustainable Finance (CSF) — Just Energy Transition
Assessed the challenges Colombia faces in its energy transition, focusing on the reduction of fossil fuel production and consumption. Used national and regional input-output models to simulate the economic and employment impacts on fiscal revenue and on the regions most dependent on fossil fuels, and identified opportunities in other sectors to mitigate the losses.
